Photo 365 Weeks 24-25

Weeks of June 6-20, 2010

Here is an update on our garden. We are waiting on some tomatoes to get red, and our cucumbers are blooming like crazy and  our squash has many blooms and about five or six squash growing. I took this at the beginning of the week and with all the rain we have been getting this week they have grown much bigger.

Last week we were so dry we watered the lawn and garden several times. Rachel loves to run through the sprinkler so here she is enjoying that time.

The Summerville Library had a special program put on by The South Carolina Aquarium so Rachel and I headed over there. She had a chance to touch many kinds of animals including:  star fish, sea urchins, a python, a box turtle and an alligator. She loved it and we learned some interesting facts about each animal.

Each morning we had Vacation Bible School at our church. The theme was King of My Heart Who Is On The Throne. Rachel had a wonderful time. All the activities and stories were about learning the wordless book and had a royal theme through out. It was a very well run program.

Friday friends of ours from Atlanta came to town and invited us to lunch. We went to a place called Magnolias. It was great to see old friends and catch up on church and family news. This was Rachel’s white chocolate ice cream for dessert.

Saturday one of Rachel’s classmates had a birthday party at Claire’s. Each girl got their fingernails painted, got to dress up and put on a fashion show, have cake and $10.00 to shop. Rachel of course went to the 10 for $10 rack. (We have trained her well) She had a great time. Here the girls are modeling some fun sunglasses.

Wow 40 years

This weekend we celebrated Mom and Dad Hoyt's 40th wedding anniversary. Wow 40 years sounds like a long time and yet I am sure in a way it seems very short. God has really blessed them over the years. They have four wonderful children! They all love the Lord and serve Him. They still love each other and you can see that in their eyes when they look at each other and how they treat each other.I could not have ask for better in laws. They have made living away from my family so much more bearable. They are wonderful grandparents to Rachel (even though they spoil her some). Thanks Mom and Dad for your great example! I know I don't say it often enough but I love you both!

Photo 365 Week 22

Philip's company picnic  was at Wannamaker Park which had sprinklers. Rachel had a ball playing in them.

Our community pool opened and Rachel had to try it out the day after it opened. It did pass her inspection. She wants to use it many times this summer.

We went to downtown Charleston to the market. There are horse and carriage tours through town. One of these days I would love to do this to hear some of the history and see some of the old houses.
Rachel and Aunt Lizzie at a Japanese Restaurant for lunch. It has been nice having Lizzie visit for two weeks.
